Special Prayer Request. I want to thank you all for praying for those listed on our prayer list each and every week. Today we will start a 40 day prayer time to pray for God’s Spirit to move in our lives and in the lives of others. Use this as a reminder. Cut this article out, and stick it to your fridge or some place where it might help you to remember to lift up our world’s greatest need-it’s need for Jesus as Lord and Savior. Please pray today for a move of God that will change lives for the better for all eternity. We will hold a 4 day revival beginning on Easter morning and ending on the Wednesday of that same week. Pray that real revival that comes from God will arrive in our hearts and lives and that God will continue changing us into the people He desires us to be for years to come. I want to ask each of you to invite others to pray with you concerning this need for genuine revival. If you think you need to clean your house before anyone can come over or you must provide snacks and coffee, don’t. Please let this be a prayer event, not a social event. If you still feel like you have to clean and be a good host then meet somewhere else. The main thing is that we get together for the purpose of praying for God to move. Meet as often as you’d like. Pray as many times a day as you are lead by the Lord. I want to thank you for your prayers. I believe we will see miracles. I believe we will see lives saved and transformed. I have seen it in other places. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for every good gift is from you. Paul Smith
Happy Valentines Day
Happy Valentines Day. It is past now but how did you celebrate this day with your first love? The Lord Jesus revealed Himself to the 7 churches in the first three chapters of the book of Revelation through John. He had this to say to the Ephesian church fellowship. “I know thy works…nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou has left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works…” (Revelation 2:2-5) All of God’s Word is living, inspired, and powerful. It is able to correct individuals, churches, and nations to repent and return to Christ Jesus. We must not trust in rumors about the things of this world. We must each one trust in Christ who is the Author and Finisher of our faith. He began a good work in you and He is faithful to perfect you through His blood. Have a happy valentines day today and every day, not with your earthly love, but with your first love. With the man, Jesus who saved you and changed you from a sinner to a saint. The Messiah has has made you righteous, redeemed, blessed, favored, successful, loved, and accepted. All the Glory and praise goes to the Lord our God. Ephesians 1:6 See you at Bible Study tonight. Last Week
Last week, I mentioned David Crain and how he uses songs to help anyone memorize scripture. I would like to direct you to his web site. Go to http://www.davidcrain.com to learn about his powerful ministry. For music that you can memorize scriptures with just search David Crain on itunes. His newest album is called “Forever: The Word Of The Lord” This album contains songs with scripture so you can listen to and memorize them. His ministry is powerful because God has gifted him and he includes his family members in his music. It is wonderful to sing with your family or with friends and praise God together. That is why when you are at home, or in rush hour traffic in downtown Colorado City, you can listen to and sing along with these itunes and memorize scripture with a smile on your face. Have a Wonderful Wednesday. Blessings to you, Paul Smith
How to memorize God’s Word
How to memorize God’s Word. I never did well memorizing in grade school. I got licks in fourth grade for not having my multiplication tables memorized. I had difficulty memorizing The Periodic Table for 9th grade science as well. Therefore, I was unable to be in our science fair that year because I had not passed science that six weeks. Even in my youth group in Sunday School; I found it very difficult to remember the verse of scripture along with the book it was in and the chapter and verse number. Now, I have learned some tools that have given me great success memorizing things, even God’s Word. David Crane is a singing evangelist who taught me to sing scripture. Begin the tune (choose a tune you know and love) with the book name and corresponding chapter and verse numbers then add in the verse. Then repeat the name and place where the verse is found in the Bible. Easy. Another way to memorize is to write down the first letter of each word of a verse on a paper. Later look at the jumbled looking letters and see if you can recall the individual words that make up the whole verse. Go online to www.productivity501.com for more info. Have a Terrific day! Your Faith / My Faith
Your Faith / My Faith: How do we define this term – Faith. I believe faith is more than tradition. I believe faith is more than superstition. I believe faith is conviction. Not the kind of conviction we experiance when we have done something we know is wrong. The conviction that all of the Bible is 100% correct. Then when a sitation comes along and we hold to our conviction, we take a stand, risk it all, and we do not bow down to presure (real or felt). As an example, one of my convictions is that, I believe Muslems are not “the enemy”. I believe they are people who face the same problems and temptations we face. I believe all men were created equal and must be treated with respect and kindness. I believe Christ loves them and died and arose from the dead for them and everyone. I believe the Bible tells us that everyone’s very real enemy is Satan. l believe we need to love them (as well as everyone else on the earth) and pray that their eyes will be opened to the good news of Jesus. I believe we need to pray for the believers to share Christ Jesus with all men. (one good way is to read John 3:16 to someone) This is how we fulfill our purpose in this world by loving others and sharing Christ with all folks everywhere. Have a terrific week, Paul Smith
The Watoto Children’s Choir arriving soon!
What? Watoto? Yes! They are a group of 20 children from Uganda Africa that will be performing here in Colorado City on Tuesday Jan. 24th at 7PM at the High School Auditorium. You can find them at Vimeo or YouTube. They have recently arrived in The United States. How can you help? I am glad you asked. First we need 5 or 6 host homes that will house 3 children with an adult shapperone (just for the night of the 24th after the choir performes) Can you let these kids stay at your home for one night? Breakfast is provided. Chris Stewart is keeping track of who wants to help. You can call our office and we will let Chris know of your desire to help. He has asked an area company to provide breakfast for each of the group. (Thank you Chris for all your great work on this) Another way you can help is to attend the choir concert and pray about helping these children. They will explain their needs after the free concert. Note: The concert is free; however they will be receiving a love offering for their expenses. Please pray about helping here too. Again, look them up online. Their choir groups have been performing for over 20 years. Some of these choirs have performed for world leaders, and presedents. At each of their performances they perform for The King Of Kings! May The King Of Kings reveal His grace & presence in your day.
